I wholeheartedly agree. I'm afraid you're misunderstanding what my posts are about.
The original topic was the Furry Weekend Atlanta growth spike.
When looking at that, a friend of mine,
@WildCardNine , suggested that all furcons should place a cap; not to limit the size of a convention, but by how much it grows in a given year. That cap would be set by the convention, not because the hotel wouldn't be able to handle it. That's up to the hotel and the local fire marshal. It would instead be to reduce how much the convention staff is overwhelmed.
Then the topic went onto what it would mean for Anthro New England to move to a larger venue than the Waterfront Westin. If Boston doesn't have a hotel convention space larger than the one the Waterfront Westin has, then the only larger space would be at a convention center. Boston has two: the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center right across from the Waterfront Westin, and the Hynes convention center.
That same friend didn't think that there were hotels near the Hynes Convention Center. My posts above prove that wrong.
